Amy Fradon
Some people are simply born to sing. Such is the case with Amy Fradon, whose intoxicating voice gently lifts her songs and sends them into graceful flight on Passion Angel. Even more stunning are the beautifully braided harmonies (often with Amanda Rothenberg) that waft like gossamer over gorgeous melodies, revealing both Fradon's songwriting and production talents.

Tender, joyous, and heartfelt, Fradon's music testifies to the fertile musical soil of the Woodstock, New York scene in which she has immersed herself over the years. The playing is tasteful, always augmenting yet never encroaching upon the melody. Tim Moore (guitar) and Mark Murphy (bass, cello) add a warm, woody, organic sound on most tracks, while Neil Eisenberg's Hammond B2 provides a soulful underscore. Fradon enlists other familiar Hudson Valley names, like Artie Traum (guitar), Jay Ungar (mandolin), John Sebastian (harmonica), and Rick Danko (vocals), all of whom create a rich, mesmerizing blend of Americana that may keep this CD in your player for a long time.

"The highlight of the day was the beautiful guitar and voice of Amy Fradon. She played her voice the way many musicians aspire to master their instruments. The way that Amy brings the audience into her songs with tales of their conception is a treat all its own."
