Ritter/Petito
Leslie Ritter is best known for her singing in Amy & Leslie, "upstate New York's premier female singing duo" (with Amy Fradon). Her earthy, evocative voice has been praised by fans and critics alike. She has performed and recorded with James and Livingston Taylor, Dr. John, David Wilcox, Rory Block, John Sebastian, Shawn Colvin, Todd Rundgren, Kris Kristofferson, Artie Traum, Odetta, the Fugs, Tom Paxton and others.

Scott Petito's distinctive fretless bass has graced hundreds of recordings, including the likes of The Band, Mark Knopfler, Keith Richards, Béla Fleck, Stevie Wonder, James and Livingston Taylor, Allen Ginsberg, Happy and Artie Traum, and John Sebastian. He also is the bassist for the seminal poetry/rock group The Fugs. As producer, Scott's records have earned Grammy nominations, among other distinctions. He has also composed and produced musical scores for PBS, the BBC, PBS, Disney, CBS, the Discovery Channel, and other film and TV clients.

"There is such a lush abundance of poise and grace on [In the Silence] by Leslie Ritter and Scotty 'Suite' Petito that even finely crafted albums by studio-soaked veterans can sound a mite crude in comparison. From the welcoming bass loop and almost eerily mystic opening notes of the title song, "In the Silence," to the final fade of "More Time," every note of each piece is delicately sculpted and polished into a shimmering tapestry that provides exquisite logic and justification for Ritter's soulful voice and memo-pad lyrics."

— Gary Alexander, Woodstock Times

"...music so gorgeous you can almost see it...the musical equivalent of a Monet painting..."

— Times Herald Record

"...reminiscent of Shawn Colvin, Mary Black, and early Joni Mitchell, yet refreshingly unique...a wonderful album!"

— Rory Block
