San Diego County singer-songwriter and entertainer Judy Taylor (no relation to Bob, if you're wondering) has stirred up a tasty jambalaya on her latest effort, Cajun Soul.
Inspired by southern rockabilly and swing, Taylor mixes in a little blues, a little bluegrass, a pinch of ragtime, and a whole lot of
country and Cajun/Zydeko, then sweetens the pot with her lilting, expressive voice. Cajun Soul earned Taylor the 1998 "Songwriter of
the Year" award from the California Country Music Association.
Taylor has performed all over Southern California; toured Norway; been featured in nightly shows at the world-famous San Diego Zoo,
Wild Animal Park, and Sea World; and opened concerts for Gary Morris, Merle Haggard, Doc Watson, and the late Bill Monroe. In addition to
her solo work, Taylor also performs with the all-women band, Wild Oats.
