Wendy Waldman has achieved success on several fronts: as a critically-acclaimed recording artist; as a writer of multi-platinum
songs for other singers in fields ranging from country to pop; as a tunesmith whose work spans a broad stylistic range of projects
that include film, jazz, children's music, and R&B; as a songwriting teacher; and as one of the first female record producers in
the music industry. In the early-'70s at age 22, Wendy became the youngest member of the Warner Brothers Records "Brain Trust"
that included Randy Newman, Captain Beefheart, Van Dyke Parks, Ry Cooder, and Maria Muldaur. During her career, more than 130 of
her songs have been covered by other artists, including the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Alison Krauss, Aaron Neville, Kim Carnes,
Shenandoah, Riders in the Sky, Jesse Colin Young, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Crystal Gale, Bette Midler, and Vanessa Williams
(who turned Waldman's "Save the Best for Last" into a multi-platinum single). Wendy's work as a producer in Nashville and Los Angeles
has yielded #1 hits on the country charts, along with successful releases in the Americana market. She's also a member of the group
Bryndle (with Karla Bonoff and Kenny Edwards), and will release her eighth solo album in 2006. Wendy's workshops focus
on using the acoustic guitar as a songwriting tool.
