Like Christmas Every Day

I just wanted to let the folks at Taylor know how much I love my new 414ce. The more I play it, the more I love it! I have yet to play a guitar from any competitor that will match or surpass what Taylor has accomplished with this guitar… probably because one doesn’t exist!

Like Christmas Every Day

I have my wife (and Bob Taylor) to thank for the wonderful guitar sitting in my music room. She told me she’d ordered me a book from Amazon.com and that it was a surprise (I thought it was Dave Mustaine’s book, as it was just released and I’m a big Megadeth fan). When the book arrived, I was surprised to see that it was by Bob Taylor. I thought to myself, who’s Bob Taylor? Then I cracked it open and realized he was one of the founders of Taylor Guitars! At first I really wasn’t interested in the book, as I’ve always been a fan of [another brand], but [my wife] urged me to read it, as it was very inspirational, and overall, just a great story of success. I took her word for it and immediately got really into it. I finished the book in two days!

After reading Guitar Lessons, I had to hunt down a Taylor guitar to play and compare it to a competitor from [the other brand], and I was fortunate to find a dealer who sold both. In all honesty, I wasn’t expecting much in terms of a Taylor competing with [the other brand], but my, oh my, how ignorance is bliss! For every [other guitar] I played, I played a competing Taylor, and every single time, the Taylor was the clear winner!

On August 17, I finally got the 414ce. I played a lot of different Taylor models (from the 300 Series to the 900 Series), and I just kept coming back to the 414ce. It just felt perfect to me.

A day hasn’t gone by that I don’t sit down with my 414ce, even if it’s just to take it out of the case, stare at it, and appreciate it! While this sounds crazy, I go to bed at night and can’t wait to get up the following morning, come home from work, and just sit down with my Taylor guitar! It’s the same feeling I experienced as a child: going to bed on Christmas Eve, then waking up to a bunch of presents under the tree!

Thanks for making such fine instruments.
