Winter NAMM was a blast, and we have the pictures and video to prove it. The Taylor showcase room was abuzz with great music and conversation thanks to a diverse mix of Taylor friends, including artists, dealers and others connected to the music industry who dropped by to hang out and sample our 2013 guitar line. The Grand Orchestra made a big splash, impressing test-drivers with its lush, responsive tone, while a wall of Build to Order beauties seduced many a guest.
On Taylor's performance stage, an amazing lineup brought our instruments to life and entertained the crowd. Our own Andy Powers sat in with a few of the acts, playing a Grand Orchestra with The Farm, Pat Simmons from the Doobie Brothers, and Raining Jane. A few unexpected guests added to the fun, including Americana showman David Mayfield, a favorite from last year’s show, and Night Ranger guitarists Joel Hoekstra and Brad Gillis, who shredded together on an acoustic instrumental. Allen Stone’s soulful set channeled vintage Stevie Wonder, while the virtuosic techno-funk of Japanese guitarist Miyavi, played on a T5, left listeners awestruck. Look for some great NAMM performance footage in the weeks to come.
