Dear Mr. Taylor,
I am sitting here in awe and am not sure what to say. But first a bit of my background to provide some perspective. I’ve been mostly a finger-style guitarist since the early ’60s. My first ‘good’ guitar was a Guild D-70and my first Martin, a D-28, was bought in 1966. Over the years I have had other Guilds, Gibsons, a herd of Martins (D-45’s, 35’s, 28’s, 000-21’s, 000-28’s, M-38, etc.) and a few Taylors and Gallaghers as well. I have also played many other top end, boutique guitars as well. Currently, I have a Taylor 914ce, a Big Baby and a 355 as well as a custom-made Gallagher and a pair of Martins (M-38, 000-28EC). So, I’m not a new kid on the block. Recently, I’ve been reading reviews of the new GS in a couple of magazines as well as “Wood & Steel.” So, on a whim, I ordered a new GSMC from Elderly Instruments. It arrived this past Thursday, 1 June. I was not prepared for what I received. Without a doubt, this is the best playing, best sounding acoustic guitar I have ever played…and this is right out-of-the-box. This is simply astounding. My deepest thanks to you and the craftsmen at Taylor Guitars.
Best regards, |

I recently purchased a GS, Mahogany and Cedar. My collection is fairly extensive including a 1990
Taylor 712C, Martin 000-28VS, Martin
OM-41 Rory Block and a Martin D-28 Clarence White. I can truly say nothing compares to the GS. The sound is magnificent. Rich powerful bass with crystal clear trebles. It played beautifully right off the wall at our local guitar shop. To make the GS the absolutely perfect guitar I would love to have the neck that is on my 712C. It has a 1-7/8” nut width. I also play classical guitar and the transition between the two widths is very easy. If you ever make the wider neck available on the GS I am buying another one. Please let me know if this option may be available in the future. In any case I consider the GS a revolutionary guitar. Great work Taylor!

Thank you for providing a wonderful workshop program! I got to attend a Pat Kirtley workshop at
Guitar Source in Overland Park, KS last night and it was superb! Pat's ability to teach and
entertain at the same time is amazing! He is a wonderful spokesman for Taylor Guitars. Keep up
the great work!
Also, my compliments to all who worked to develop the new GS series. I purchased a new GSMC a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be more pleased. I think the GS series has set a new standard for acoustics! Thanks!

On April 21st, my brother Bill and I had the great pleasure of hearing Artie Traum perform his beautiful
acoustic guitar jazz at a Taylor Regional Workshop hosted by the Lipham Music shop in Gainesville, Florida.
Artie sang and played his wonderful music on a Taylor912CE and introduced the audience to the marvels of
DADGAD tuning. Wow, what a performance!
During the Q&A session, I asked Artie if he had played the new GS. With a pause and a wishful “twinkle in his eye”, he replied, “No”, but that he had recently seen and heard the GS played at the Taylor factory in San Diego. (Everyone in the audience could tell Artie longed to hold a GS in his hands.) Then, as though hearing his soulful plea, Taylor Regional Sales Manager Aaron Dablow emerged from the back of the room holding a GS proudly in the air. Following a descriptve overview of the new guitar, Aaron placed the beautiful instrument in Artie's eager and out-stretched hands. Momements later, Artie was smiling as he played the GS for the very first time! With just a few strums across the strings, Artie grinned, paused and then looked at the audience. “Smooth as ‘butta’,” he said with his Brooklyn accent. Needless to say, we were treated to an extraordinary inaugural GS rendition of Artie’s music. Fortunately, with the support of my wife, who understands my love for music and the guitar, I own two Taylors - a 412CE LS and a 912CE. Although I have played other guitars, none compare to the tone and quality of the Taylor. Thank you, Taylor for making these world-class instruments and for sharing the incredible talent of a musician like Artie Traum.

A recent hand injury has really reduced my ability to play as much as I would like to. In fact I
had to give up playing my 355 because I no longer had the hand strength to play it.
Last weekend I walked into my Taylor Dealer in Spokane and played a GSRS. It had an amazing tone to it and I couldn't get enough of it. The best part was that it didn’t hurt my hand when I played. On Wednesday I brought the guitar home and after two hours of playing, my hand feels just fine! Thank you Taylor for making such a fine instrument. The GS has allowed me to play as often as I want to and for as long as I desire. Sincerely,
Mike W

My first Taylor was a 414CE. I upgraded to a 714CE, then to an 815CE Jumbo. When I missed not having a
small guitar, I also picked up a 512CE. These are all great guitars which have different flavors and
nuances. But I have to say the new GS cedar top I purchased two weeks ago is the finest instrument I’ve
ever owned. Bass response, mid-range clarity, and high frequency voicing are all equally impressive on
this guitar! It's been love at first strum, no doubt. On the Taylor site GS video one of the players
says, “This guitar has the sound I’ve been chasing all these years.” I couldn’t
agree more. Although I must admit when I told my wife this was the last guitar I’d ever need to buy,
she fell over the bed, she was laughing so hard! But she didn’t get the subtlety of my statement. I
may purchase another guitar, but it won’t be to fill a need. The GS fills them all beautifully! And
the ES on this guitar is the finest I’ve heard as well! Thanks Bob, for continuing to raise the bar!
