For many people, John Denver's gentle manner and country-folk stylings conveyed a sense of what is meaningful
and good in life. He was one of the biggest recording and concert stars of the '70s and '80s, and John Denver's
Greatest Hits remains one of the biggest-selling albums in the history of RCA Records, with worldwide sales of
more than 10 million copies.
In 1994, Denver bought two limited-edition Taylor bird's-eye maple 915-Ms. Eventually, he replaced all
his guitars with a collection of Taylors, including a K15, a K22, a 1995 LTD GABE, an 855, a 955c and
several Babys. Because of his association with Taylor, and especially since his tragic death in October
1997, many people have asked us if we were going to create a model to commemorate Denver's life and
music. It takes a while to make such things happen, but we trust that Denver's fans will feel that it
was well worth the wait. |

The John Denver Commemorative Model is a Grand Concert boasting koa on the back, sides, and top, and flamed maple
for the soundhole rosette. The fretboard inlay uses koa, maple, walnut, and yellow heart to depict the heroic-scale
statue of Denver, created by artist Sue DiCicco, that stands on the grounds of the Windstar Land Conservancy, in Snowmass, Colorado.
A percentage of the profits from the sale of each JDCM will go to the Windstar Foundation, the non-profit
environmental education organization that Denver co-founded in 1976, with Aikido Master, Tom Crum.
