PRIDE AND A LITTLE PREJUDICE
I had my husband, Jody, take the enclosed photo of me with my
Dan Crary Signature Model (DCSM), so we could make posters for our band, the Western
Stars ("Good Ole Country Music"). I've played rhythm guitar since I was four years old, when my mama taught me my first chords on an old Kay guitar
that I could barely reach around. Then, in the early '80s, I had a problem with my voice that required surgery, and I had to quit playing and singing
for eight or nine years.
Eventually, I guess Jody (who plays bass) knew that if he bought me a guitar, I'd want to play again, professionally. We already had [two other brands],
which I dearly love, but he wanted to show me a guitar in a music store. I said I'd go along, but I was sure there wasn't another guitar better than my
[other brand]. Boy, was I wrong!
I looked at two or three guitars before he showed me the Dan Crary; when I strummed that guitar, I couldn't believe it! Plus, my hands are small, and
the Taylor neck was heaven. Jody was right - he bought me the DCSM and we started our band up again. We get a lot of enjoyment out of playing music.
Thanks to my husband for knowing about, and buying, my Taylor. And thanks to you for making such a great instrument! It is the very best, a treasure,
my pride, my prized possession.
