Our asymmetrical C-Class bracing adapts the V-Class concept to a smaller body, pushing more volume and sustain along with a boost to this model's bass response. Our responsibly sourced Urban Ash tonewood resonates with sonic character similar to mahogany, with a strong fundamental focus and a woody midrange. The GTe Urban Ash is finished with Urban Sienna stain on the back and sides, and includes ES2 electronics and a durable AeroCase.

It is a groundbreaking guitar that’s created from sustainably sourced urban wood that was harvested from end-of-life trees from parks and roadways in California. The GT Urban Ash has a compact body that was designed to create a strong, resonant sound.
It’s an ideal “couch” guitar, an easy guitar to take along, and a perfect steel-string to learn on. And yet, the GT is no slouch when it comes to serious performance; I’m certain that it will become a main guitar for many!
From first glance, this guitar has a very organic build approach, with attention focused on wood grain and a grassroots aesthetic.
The instrument itself is road ready and rock solid, fitting the bill for many the performing musician and songwriter.
In some ways, the GT’s shorter scale and tighter string spacing offers a new light on the landscape of the fingerboard. I had lots of fun trying out different chords otherwise uncomfortable to reach on a standard scale guitar!
Overall, the GT fits into a niche not previously filled in Taylor’s catalog.
