PS56ce (2017)

This Grand Symphony 12-string sings like no other guitar in our sublime Presentation Series. Sets of beautifully variegated Macassar ebony are paired with premium Sitka spruce tops to produce a voice with sweeping acoustic range, while the octave strings elevate an already rich and resonant voice to another level. A hand-carved ebony armrest blends high-end craftsmanship with the ultimate in strumming comfort. Premium appointments include colorful paua edging, a Macassar ebony backstrap, and an elaborate Nouveau vine fretboard inlay complemented by elegant headstock torch and bridge inlays. The guitar also features Gotoh Gold tuners, a bone nut and saddle, a Florentine cutaway, and Taylor Expression System 2 electronics.

Features

Discover the features that make this guitar unique

Grand Symphony

Shapes

This strong Taylor strummer produces a rich, bold voice.

Sitka Spruce

Top Woods

The soundboard choice for most guitars, Sitka spruce produces a broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.

Macassar Ebony

Body Woods

Macassar’s exotic beauty is matched by a bold, dynamic tone that can be dark or bright, depending on the player and the top pairing.

Expression System® 2

Electronics

The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Florentine Cutaway

Cutaways

A Florentine cutaway comes to a sharp point, creating a horn-like shape. It is more complex and labor-intensive than the Venetian, and is commonly used with our Grand Orchestra body style and, more recently, on Grand Symphony models in our 500 Series models and up.
