Don Jones has won both divisions of the "Home of the Legends International Thumbpicking Championship" in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, and the
"National Thumpicking Competition" in Mountain View, Arkansas. "I own 12 guitars," he writes, "but I play the Taylor almost exclusively."
Not only does he play it, he plays it upside down (without inverting the string order), and he says it's not just a case of being left-handed;
everyone in his family learned to play like that. He's had to discover his own unique fingerings for every chord he knows. My Backyard is rich,
