What's the difference between the Grand Concert and the Grand Auditorium?
The Grand Concert is considered a small-body guitar. It has an articulate voice with top-end chime and controlled overtones. Its intimate size is lap/couch friendly. The Grand Auditorium is a medium-size guitar and Taylor’s most versatile body shape. It's known for its balanced blend of warmth, clarity and sustain with a well-defined midrange.
As a top wood, how does spruce sound vs. mahogany?
Aside from the difference in appearance, both wood types are extremely musical. Spruce is lighter in weight and has a broader dynamic range with pleasing overtones. A mahogany top is slightly denser and heavier which translates into a natural compression effect that smoothes out the attack, producing a more focused voice with fewer overtones.
Is this guitar solid wood?
Yes - just like all our US-made instruments, these are constructed from all-solid woods.
What makes a 12-fret guitar different?
A 12-fret guitar makes for a more compact playing framework. It combines the lap-friendly Grand Concert body with the slightly condensed fret spacing of the 24-7/8" scale length and the shorter 12-fret-to-the-neck construction. This makes a slinkier "handfeel" and easier fretting as you move up the fretboard. There's a surprising amount of tonal power and midrange warmth from the bridge sitting back a little farther on the lower bout. Also, the slotted headstock creates a more acute string angle over the nut. Because this puts a little more downward pressure on the nut, it'll feel a little more precise to your fretting hand. Notes won't bend quite as easily closer to the nut.
Is this guitar available as a 14-fret model?
No, this is purpose-built for the neck and body to connect at the 12th fret. This makes for a compact feel that's rare in a 12-string guitar. The tone that results from the placement of the bridge in the guitar's lower bout is advantageous as well.

a little bright sounding, a very good guitar!!
Great tone, beautiful to look at and a great player.
Incredible tone as an acoustic. Very playable and good construction. I would easily recommend this guitar.
Great small body guitar
This is a terrific small body cut away acoustic guitar. Looks great and sounds better, nice size for finger picking and the blues. The electronics work very well, and Taylor is very supportive of the Left-Handed players.
Fantastic guitar
I've always been a fan of Taylor guitars, but being mainly a bass player and drummer, never bought one. I recently started playing guitar again, so I went to my local shop and played a few guitars in my price range. They all were nice, but the all-mahogany construction provided a rich midrange and growly low end that appealed to the bass player in me. I've had the guitar for 6 months now, and always have trouble putting it down.
This guitar came with a very good set-up. I want to thank Alamo Music in Texas for helping me pick this guitar. They could not be any better in helping me find the best guitar for me. I purchased this guitar for my son as a gift. He is just starting out playing guitar and I thought he would need a good acoustic guitar to go along with the Fender Strat that I gave him. He could not be happier with this guitar.

Fits the bill just right
I was looking for a smaller guitar that's easy to play. I got a 322ce from Everything Musical and love the playability and size.

A nice change from my grand auditorium Taylors.
I prefer this size model to my 614ce. More moderate tone than the 614 which is great for some of my music. Glad that I chose the standard neck arrangement over the 12 fret. 12 fret would have restricted my playing. Handles altered tunings well.
