Together with V-Class bracing, the Grand Concert body shape and a thin matte finish that preserves optimal resonance, this model yields a bold, sprightly attack with a vibrant midrange response, pristine trebles and a warm low end that grows richer with time and play. This new model looks as striking as it sounds with koa’s natural color variegation highlighted by rosewood binding, a paua shell rosette, a dark-stained maple pickguard and new Fountain inlays in mother-of-pearl. The 722ce ships with the built-in ES2 pickup and a deluxe hardshell guitar case.

Can you get these in glossy finish?
This finish isn't modifiable. Sorry, that wouldn't be an available option. For a Gloss finish Koa, you would need to look at the Koa series models <a href="https://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/k22ce" target="_blank">https://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/k22ce</a>
What strings does this come with? And which would be better, Phosphor Bronze or 80/20 Bronze?
We use and prefer D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze lights (012"-053")
Can you custom order this guitar with an AeroCase, instead of the hardshell case? Could you also order it with Gotoh tuners pre-installed?
You can special order it with Gotoh tuners for an additional charge. It is not available with the AeroCase.
Is it possible to order this guitar without electronics and mother of pearl edge treatment?
It can be ordered without electronics, yes. Binding, inlays, rosette, etc. are not modifiable. These appointments are specific to the series.
I have one...The wiring harness is loose and creates a buzz. How do I fix that?

is it possible to get a classical size neck, i.e., a 2 inch nut width?
Sorry, no.
I love mine, (my 5th Taylor) just got it the day before yesterday ... at first I thought it was too bright and thought of returning it, (I'm kind of heavy handed) As I sat with it and tossed the pick she showed me how to play her. I literally had to change the way I play. It responds to touch more so than I was expecting, kudos to y'all for making this great guitar! My question is ... how do I remove the pick guard? Now that I see how she is, I wanna play a hole in it.
It's best to have an experienced tech remove the guard to keep from damaging the finish and wood underneath during the process. Please email our customer service team if you need help finding a tech. support@taylorguitars.com

Yes - all 700 series models are solid wood construction.
What case do these come with?
Most 700 series models ship in a deluxe brown hard shell case made by Taylor for optimal fit and protection. The exception is the 717 which ships in a hardshell case with brown western floral covering.
Is the appearance of the wood different on every guitar?
Yes, because of the uniqueness of each koa tree and each part of each koa tree, no two guitars are exactly the same.
What's the difference between the Grand Concert and the Grand Auditorium?
The Grand Concert is considered a small-body guitar. It has an articulate voice with top-end chime and controlled overtones. Its intimate size is lap/couch friendly. The Grand Auditorium is a medium-size guitar and Taylor’s most versatile body shape. It's known for its balanced blend of warmth, clarity and sustain with a well-defined midrange.

Brilliance: It's a Taylor, after all.
This is my third Taylor acoustic, the first two being 814 ce's (2002 and 2008, respectively). This time around, after a long hiatus, I was looking for something more unique with the finish and was surprised by the smaller body size.
The 722ce is a stunning guitar with just the right appointments; subtle, not flashy, simple, yet elegant. But what matters most is sound. I had played a Taylor Koa 722ce, but not the one I ended up with. I knew if I had one from the factory (or at least one unplayed/displayed in a store for months), I wouldn't be disappointed. I was overjoyed when it arrived.
Tonally, it's a delight, and the clarity from the mids to the highs is superb. I thought I might miss the 'bigger' sound of a 724, but after having played it, I preferred the crisp tones of the 722, and the size is perfect; everything is accessible.
I play fingerstyle mostly, with occasional strumming, and love its response. I've heard they've now discontinued this model, but I'm sure they will bring another iteration with koa. For me, this satin finish, size, and tone and just what I needed when I needed it.
I've been fortunate enough to have three outstanding acoustic guitars from Taylor over the years, and the Taylor 722ce Hawaiian Koa is a satisfying instrument I'm proud to show others. Wow! My new Taylor 722ce just arrived and I’m so happy with the guitar. It really is a sweetheart of an instrument and I just love it. It looks amazing and it’s such a pleasure to play. The dynamics you can get from this guitar are exceptional and it just sings and has so many new songs hiding within it.

Love it!
This was a bit of an extravagant and spontaneous purchase for me, as I already had a stable of guitars, and my playing doesn't really warrant such a high end instrument. But it was love at first sight, and six months in and I have not a single regret; only tired fingers, slightly better skills, and a few new songs. This is a beautiful guitar, aesthetically, tactually and sonically, which has quickly found it's way to the front of the line for any mood or song, other than maybe some loud distortion when I have the house to myself. I can see myself playing this for many years and it's hard to think of anything that might displace it. Thank you, well done, and keep up the good work.

I really like that Taylor offers a new Koa version in the 700 series. I never really understood why Taylor used nearly the same woods for 700 & 800 series.
This new 722 really shines for fingerstyle, but also sounds nice strummed as well.

The 722CE is a thrill to play.
It has perfect intonation. It passes the 14th fret/open bass D chord test.
The response and volume are equal over the entire neck, which plays as well as all of my electrics.
Action is perfect and the guitar responds equally to everything from light fingerpicking to heavy strumming.
The sound of the guitar is piano-like over its entire range.
Oh and of course it's beautiful to look at.

Taylor's 712ce all koa is a dream guitar
Phenomenal instrument. Playability is now excellent. I predominantly play fingerstyle with a light attack. Took the guitar to an authorized Taylor repair shop and had the next adjusted to lower the action to my taste. Plays exceptionally well now. Love the satin finish and feel of the neck. The koa tonewoods are absolutely stunning. Enjoying the Expression 2 pickup system and the tonal flexibility it provides. Its truly a fun and inspiring instrument to play.

I love this guitar. it spoke to me at once in terms of playability. it looks beautiful, the koa wood feels so good and it sounds beautiful. one point of critique although. there is a defect in manufaturing. the pickguard stands a little bit out, it's not quite even glued. concerning an instrument in that price range, I would have expected a better final inspection...

This guitar plays amazingly and is absolutely gorgeous! I love the Grand Concert size. It takes very little effort and it responds beautifully. I love it for all my fingerpicking songs. I own 6 Taylor guitars and this fits in nicely with my collection.

A Work of Art!
First off, I don’t deserve a guitar like this, but oh well! This was a demo at Sweetwater and when I saw the gorgeous distinctive pattern of the Koa woods on the back and front, that was it!
This thing is an absolute piece of art. Everything is absolutely perfect, including the binding, fretboard, neck and body. I have never seen this level of craftsmanship in anything I have owned.
I took advantage of Taylor’s BOGO to get my granddaughters a Taylor GS Mini Koa at the same time and that guitar is stunning as well. I’m ecstatic!
