Do picks affect the tone of your guitar?

Taylor Guitars

Best answer Taylor Guitars

Yes, the material and gauge play a huge part in the sound. The general rule of thumb is the thicker the pick the more volume and richness of tone. Details are listed in the pick descriptions.

Shouldn't I use a thinner pick for a softer sound?

Taylor Guitars

Best answer Taylor Guitars

No, this is a common misconception. For a softer sound simply hold the thicker pick slightly looser in your hand. This will produce a fuller tone for any soft sound.

How do I determine which pick thickness is right for me?

Taylor Guitars

Best answer Taylor Guitars

Taylor recommends using the thickest pick that feels comfortable and the best way to determine this is simply to get them in your hands!

Can this pick be used on both an electric and acoustic guitar?

The Best Guitar Pick Ever.

5 out of 5 stars John Paul K.

The Thermex Pro 1.5mm is the best pick I have ever used over the last 5 decades. It is incredibly perfect, beautifully rich and warm and so clear. There is no irritating back twang or that flapping and clacking sound when a cheaper or thinner pick is used over strings. I just compared this Thermex Pro against the famous competition (that Martin Luxe Contour) which is an eye watering $25 for a single pick and Taylor wins hands down and hey for a pack of 6 thats only $1 each. Very very recommended.
