Taylor Truss Rod Cover, Indian Rosewood, 2 Hole

This is a replacement truss rod cover for Taylor guitars made with Indian rosewood to match appointments from various Taylor series. This truss rod cover features a two-hole design compatible with certain Taylor models. Check your guitar and read the instructions below to determine which two-hole truss rod cover is right for your guitar. This is the long two-hole truss rod cover. How to Choose the Correct Size Truss Rod Cover: Three-Hole Covers - All three-hole covers are the same size. Simply choose the material you’d like. We offer black plastic, rosewood and ebony. Two-Hole Covers - There are two sizes of two-hole covers: standard and short. You can determine the size of yours by serial number or by measuring. By Serial Number We used the shorter two-hole cover until September of 2003. We switched to a slightly longer (standard) truss rod cover so we wouldn’t have to cut the screw by the nut shorter, which was done to prevent it from hitting the truss rod below it. The transition date was September 17, 2003. Guitars with serial number 20030917xxx (2003 = year and 0917 = month and day) or later will take the longer covers. Guitars built before that date will take the short cover. By Measuring - If measuring, the distance between the screw holes is: Standard: 1.8” (1-51/64”, 4.57 cm) Short: 1.65” (1-21/32”, 4.19 cm)

Hi- I have a 414ce-LTD-R.  serial #1011309089.  I need a truss rod cover.  There are just 2 holes for screws.  When I measure the distance between it appears to be exactly 1.75" which is not one of the options I see listed ( Standard: 1.8" and short 1.65"). Is this because I have a Limited Edition?  What should I do to get a new cover?  Thank you!

I received my truss cover but the finish is wrong.  Is it expected that I put a lacquer finish on it to match my Taylor’s finish?

Truss rod covers are not finished when purchased separately. At the factory, we clean them with 0000 steel wool and apply boiled linseed oil before installation. If you buy one aftermarket, you’ll need to apply oil before installing it. If you already have fretboard conditioner on hand, that works as an alternative to boiled linseed oil.
