Kerry "2Smooth" Marshall is the CEO and Founder of “KERRY’S KAMP,” the #1 online guitar school and community for R&B, neo-soul and gospel guitar. His unique, innovative and signature sound, combined with his massive social influence, has attracted students of all ages from all over the world to Kerry’s Kamp. Marshall is also a talented and celebrated guitarist, instructor, session player, social influencer, producer, and voting member of the Recording Academy.
A driven perfectionist at heart, Marshall has been fine-tuning his craft for over 25 years, which has led him to become a valuable asset in the entertainment scene for many artists. Kerry has graced the stage with an extensive roster of performers, including legendary and rising artists like international superstar Jason Derulo, 2 Chainz, film actor and R&B singer Tyrese Gibson, Kiana Lede, Ledisi, Ty Dolla $ign, Sean Kingston, The Roots, Melanie Fiona, Ledisi, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, Raheem DeVaughn, Leela James, Chrisette Michele, Musiq Soulchild, Kevin Ross, Sebastian Kole, Grace Weber, and many others.
Aside from touring, Marshall has recorded in studio sessions and has co-produced songs for artists such as Tank, Jacquees, Grace Weber, Chrisette Michele, Rita Ora, Emeli Sande, Mali Music, Ledisi, Michael Bolton, John Givez, and the Dream Junkies. He has also had songs licensed to play on national Google commercials.
Marshall has recently been a panelist on a summit for Guitar.com and has been featured in Guitar Player magazine, Electronic Musician, Soundtrack Entertainment, BMetro Magazine, local newspapers in Birmingham, Alabama, countless online outlets and blogs, and has made television appearances on MTV, VEVO, Jimmy Kimmel Live,Late Night with Seth Myers, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Good Morning America, in the TV series R&B Divas LA, Perez Hilton’s PerezTV, Good Day LA, and Talk of Alabama. Since the pandemic, Marshall has been busy running Kerry’s Kamp, working on business partnerships with several guitar and gear brands, doing interviews and livestreams, and lots of session work.
