The all-new 724ce launches a new era for the Taylor 700 Series, introducing Select-grade Hawaiian koa to this popular family of acoustic guitars. This Grand Auditorium boasts back, sides and top of solid Hawaiian koa selected for its visual beauty as well as its punchy, lively musical response. You’ll hear a bold attack with an energetic tone profile that yields crisp trebles, a rich midrange and a low end that grows in over time. The super-thin matte finish makes for a raw feel and aesthetic that’s complemented by mother-of-pearl Fountain inlays, rosewood binding, a paua shell rosette and a dark-stained maple pickguard. It includes the ES2 acoustic pickup and a deluxe hardshell guitar case for storage and protection.
“Its proportions make for an all-purpose instrument that hits a sweet spot for strummers and fingerstyle players alike. The Grand Auditorium is fairly lightweight and very comfortable to cradle while sitting or standing”
"If you’re a fingerpicker who wants a responsive guitar that not only feels great but delivers a very balanced tone, it’s worth seeking out the Taylor 724ce."
Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.

An awesome all koa guitar. Plenty of cool overtones and chimeyness, yes that’s a word.
Plus it’s backed up by Taylor’s guarantee. You can’t go wrong with a Taylor guitar. Get it now and enjoy it for the rest of your life.

Best guitar ever.
5 out of 5 starsWolf SD
This is absolutely the best sounding guitar that I have ever played.
I own a Martin DC-18E and an Alvarez Yairi as well which are both great in thier own right but this guitar blows them both away.
The price tag was intimidating but honestly it is worth it.
The VOLUME and TONE of this instrument are incredible and every note resonates so beautifully.
Between quiet passages or a heavy beat down everything is crisp and clear.
Pickup is phenomenal as well.
This guitar is also just an absolute treat to behold as it is GORGEOUS.
So happy with my purchase.
Would do it again in a heartbeat.

I currently have 3 Taylor guitars, a GS-Mini Mahogany, the 724CE and a GT Urban Ash. I Love all 3 of them, but this 724CE is my stellar "go to" guitar if I am going to be playing in public. The GS-Mini and the GT are my comfort foods. They're comfortable and great sounding couch guitars.

Sounds As Good As It Looks

Got this guitar at Guitar Center after reading the review in Acoustic Guitar. Sound is very well balanced. Pleasant harmonics. Kind a grabs you when you first play it. Very comfortable. Elixir strings which I’m usually not a fan of, is a good match. They sparkle.

724ce - A Dream Guitar
5 out of 5 starsChris H.
What can I say that has not been said thousands of times about Taylor Guitars? They are simply the easiest and most comfortable to play with a luxurious sound. I have owned close to 100 guitars over the past 43 years. My Taylors are my favorites. This 724ce is nothing short of genius. The 724ce has the balance and clarity of an OM, but has added bass and volume that is provided by all of Taylor’s Grand Auditorium’s. The tone is warm and even across the registers with no notes overpowering others. When I dig in with my pick, I am met with an equal explosion of clarity and sound dispersion. The V-Bracing rounds out what I can only call a “Dream Guitar”

After owning a 514CE and 814CE (35th anniversary), I was spoiled. I decided to splurge and get this for my Father's Day present to myself and I couldn't be happier! The look is absolutely gorgeous and the sound is incredible. Oddly, on the first two I owned I had I had my luthier go over each and improve upon both...this one has not been touched! Straight out of the box it is setup better than my previous two! My minor tweaks to the aesthetics (IMHO) just add an extra "cherry" to the top of this beautiful piece. And yes, I just HAD to buy the Taylor stand for it to live on. ;-)

Perfect acoustic guitar, except for the neck.
4 out of 5 starsSandy H.
I am 68 years old. I've owned hundreds of guitars, every name brand that most people have heard of. This guitar is the most beautiful acoustic guitar I've ever owned. It is the most amazing sounding acoustic I've ever owned. However, I hate the neck on this guitar. I simply cannot understand the thinking behind the design of putting a wide, flat neck on an acoustic guitar. The website says it is to mimic the feel of an electric guitar. First, I have no idea why anyone would want to do that on an acoustic. Second, I currently own a Gibson Les Paul, a Fender Strat, a Fender Telecaster and a top of the line Godin. None of them have necks like this Taylor. I have two Takamine Pro level acoustics and I love the necks on both of them. If my Taylor had the neck of one of my Takamines, it would be the perfect guitar of my dreams. I will end by saying, this guitar sounds so good, I can't stop playing it and every time I do, I'm reminded how much I hate the neck.

Hi Sandy,
Sorry to hear you don't like the neck shape. This guitar has our standard shape, which is very comfortable for most players but we do have options for those looking for something different. This model has a narrower nut width and 3 other neck profiles to choose from. Thanks!
Midrange Koa sound and beautiful wood
5 out of 5 starsJason E.
Such a great midrange tone. Played this and an 814ce back to back, and really preferred the sound of the Koa. Enough bass without being boomy, and some high sizzle without being overly bright. Plus the wood is beautiful!

This guitar makes you want to keep playing I just wish I didn't have a job so I could just play it all day.
I did have a small issue with the gauge of strings on it for me. I had a lighter set put on it and it now plays beautifully for me.

First of all, It's beautiful. Secondly The sound is very like a mahogany guitar. Good volume and presence played acoustically. Versatile. Good sound either flatpicking or fingerpicking. Have played it through several different amps and have had to play around with guitar and amp settings to get a good balance from bass through treble. Very playable. Comfortable neck. Nice size.

While the Taylor 724 acoustic guitar is expensive, I have found it to be well worth the price. The sound is awesome and playability superb. this 724 is beyond my expectations. I tried other guitars in this class, but this Taylor was best for me. I can’t put it down which is what I was striving for.

The perfect guitar
5 out of 5 starsChristopher S.
It's so beautiful I've been too afraid to play it live yet. From the action height, to the creaminess of the reverb, and smoothness of the neck. It is perfect. Not to mention the quality of wood and uniqueness from guitar to guitar, is like opening a treasure chest the first time you pop the case open. It's the guitar I've always wanted and I finally have it!

My 724ce Found Its Way To Me
5 out of 5 starsWelch D.
I thank Taylor Guitar for making this beautiful looking and sounding guitar. I like to think it was made just for me, and it found its way to me. I purchased it at Hugo Helmer Music in Burlington WA, after playing five Taylor Guitars. My 724ce has a rich and complex voice. It helped me compose Hard Rising Sun, which is on Spotify in the album Ed Blanton’s Guitar. (Please imagine Dermot Kennedy or Chris Stapleton singing it)
I’m so pleased with the craftsmanship found throughout this beautiful instrument, and with the complex sound it produces. A sincere Thank You to all the people at Taylor Guitar that handcrafted my beautiful 724ce. It brings me great joy!

The dealership was fantastic, I visited one time prior to the purchase looked around a bit asked a couple of questions and when I went back they not only remembered me but treated me like I had been a long time customer! I wanted to try out some different models they gave me the freedom to try out any of the models I wanted (all Taylor’s of course) after a few trials I kept coming back to the 724ce I just love the way the Koa’s sound !
I have had for a month maybe now and I play it every day, the more I play it the more I enjoy it.
The look, the feel, the sounds, the playability just gets better each time I pick it up ! Can’t stress how impressed I am with this guitar no buyers remorse here !! Lol

This is my 5th Taylor and I am extremely impressed. I currently own a 150ce and a Mini-GS in Mahogany as well. The fit and finish is outstanding and the intonation is spot on. I really enjoy the warm sounds from the Koa and believe it makes for perfect tone for what I play. I consider myself a beginning intermediate player but I think this makes me even better!

Beautiful to both the ear and the eye
5 out of 5 starsJim M.
This is a fantastic guitar. Rich, full tone with great sustain across the lows, mids, and highs - when I brought it home and first played it in our living room, my wife immediately understood why I succumbed at the store, since I could hardly claim I "needed" another guitar. Very playable neck, comfortable action - the sales staff lowered it slightly for me relative to the factory state. High-quality fit and finish. I admit it's important to me for a guitar to be a visually beautiful piece of woodwork, as well as a sonic one, and I really appreciate that the koa is not buried under a heavy finish, allowing the lovely grain to be both a visual and tactile presence. Probably also a factor in the tone, which was definitely superior to some flashier (and pricier) instruments I tried at the same time. Absolutely no "buyer's remorse" for treating myself to this guitar.

I love my new Taylor 724ce. It is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever own. Beautiful would and finish. And it is so well built it satisfies one of my biggest pet peeves, tuning and intonation. It is perfectly intonated all the way up the neck. Most guitars, even highend guitars have intonation issues. So this is by far the best acoustic I've ever owned and played.
Great Value for the Price
5 out of 5 starsGordon G.
Has a lovely unique dark wood grain look. So it looks great. Feels comfortable when playing. Precise set-up. The V bracing offers a beautiful lingering tone. Compared to other Grand Auditorium guitars I have it feels lighter. Equally nice for strumming or fingerpicking. I also have an 814ce, which is also an excellent guitar. When practising I find it difficult deciding which one I’ll pick up that day. Very happy with the purchase. If you don’t like the 724ce you must be hard to please……..
