Joshua Hyslop is a modern folk musician whose sound boasts an amalgam of influences in the romantic tradition of Damien Rice, Ryan Adams, Iron & Wine, and Sufjan Stevens. Like the ballyhooed folksters before him, Joshua is inspired to write largely as a result of the people and relationships surrounding him, also injecting his songs with his own vulnerabilities, doubts and conflicts. He integrates these revelations with candid lyrics to create an expressive and open sound.
