Overview
K22ce 12-Fret (2018)
Hawaiian koa boasts a naturally bright, responsive flavor, making it a perfect fit for the 12-fret configuration. With an aesthetic boost from koa’s naturally gorgeous variegation, this darkly textured Grand Concert model sings with a balanced tonal range and a focused top end. The shifted bridge position of the 12-fret configuration revoices the koa top for a slightly more open sound, which will mature and sweeten as the guitar ages. Visually, a striking set of organic appointments highlights koa’s lustre, including maple binding, rosette, and fretboard inlay in our Spring Vine pattern, plus a shaded edgeburst around the entire guitar. This all-koa model features our proprietary ES2 electronics for optimal plugged-in tone and ships in a deluxe Taylor hardshell case.

Fret inlay question - can it be ordered as mother or Pearl vs the maple?
Sorry, no.
What is the qualitative difference between the 12 fret and the 14 fret KCE 22?
12 or 14 fret is where the neck attaches at the body.
Compared to a 322ce the only difference is the $3500 extra price and the Kia wood?
Figured Koa, as well as hard rock maple binding, Maple purfling, Maple rosette, Gloss finish, Maple peg head logo, and Maple spring vine fretboard inlay. The overall dimensions, strings, tuners, and electronics are the same.

Can I order the K 22CE 12 fret with a spruce top ?
Sorry, no.
Is it a 2-, 3- or 4-piece top?
Two piece.
What grade is the Koa, A or AA?
A grade is standard, AA is available by special order.
Would it be possible to make the binding black instead of white?
The binding looks white in some of the photos but it's maple, a light colored wood. It's not possible to change that spec on a standard model but you could with a custom shop ordered guitar. For more info on custom shop orders, please contact an authorized Taylor dealer.
It's a V-Class or X-Class?

I love the look of natural koa. Can I order this guitar with no edge burst, in other words, a totally natural finish?
Yes, this model can be ordered with a natural finish.
I like this guitar but could I get it with a Florentine cutaway?
Yes, a Florentine cutaway is an available option.
Is this guitar available with a narrower nut?
The 12-fret version isn't available with a narrower nut, though the 14-fret version is.

This Guitar Talks To Me!
A great addition to any collection! I’m sure you know, Koa instruments take time for their voice to mature. However, the K22ce 12-fret sounds wonderful right now. Full with mids and sparkle. This guitar is inspiring and no doubt many songs will come out along the way to maturity. Sound alone speaks loudly but it’s an easy player with incredible looks! Very comfortable to sit with for hours on end. If you’re looking for something different and want something exotic, this is a serious instrument to consider!
