Overview

Gold Label K14e

Watch Video

Designed by Andy Powers to produce a new voice rich with seasoned warmth and power, the new Gold Label K14e introduces players to a new kind of sound inspired by the classic sounds of the vintage era. This model features a new body shape we're calling the Super Auditorium, which resembles our Grand Auditorium but with slightly wider contours that help coax out more volume and greater low-end presence. Hawaiian koa back and sides paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top generate stunning midrange power and richness complemented by warmth and depth usually only found in older, more played-in guitars. Inside, a fanned variant of our V-Class bracing helps add even more volume and sustain while maintaining focus and clarity even at the highest volumes. A new long-tenon neck joint adds to the litany of innovations, improving sonic transfer for greater resonance and easy adjustability. The Gold Label K14e sports a striking appointment package headlined by our new Continental inlays, a new pickguard design, a Honduran rosewood bridge, grained ivoroid trim, and antique chrome Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons, while a full-body gloss showcases koa's natural highlights and variegation. This model ships with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics and a deluxe hardshell case with a British Cocoa exterior.

Hawaiian Koa

Few woods carry the allure of Hawaiian koa, with its gorgeous figure and sweet, complex tone.

Torrefied Spruce

Treated with our special roasting process, torrefied spruce tops deliver all the clarity, balance and projection you’d expect from a traditional spruce top with an extra dash of warmth and played-in depth.

LR Baggs - Element VTC

Beautiful sounding, visually stunning, extremely comfortable instrument

I bought a Gold Label 814e-Koa (now known as the Gold Label K14e) from the fine folks at Music Emporium in Lexington, MA. They provide an incredible guitar buying experience. This was the 6th guitar I've purchased from them over the years. I highly recommend them. The Gold Label an incredible instrument and now my main go-to performance guitar. The LR Baggs Element-VTC pickup sounds surprisingly great. The Action Control neck is a unique and powerful innovation. I love the super Auditorium size, very comfortable for me and my playing style. All around 10/10!

One of the finest production guitars of this new high-tech. manufacturing age.

This guitar has tremendous sound projection at all levels. I own a Martin Custom Grand Concert FLG 0014F Cocobolo Deluxe Acoustic Guitar Natural w/ Sitka Spruce Top & that really sounded great compared to guitars below the $2000-$3000.range with excellent mids & projection. However, this Taylor fanned V-bracing in the new super auditorium design pushes out quality sounds effortlessly with high clarity of pitch & warm tones enhanced by the Koa back & sides. The woods are all so beautiful & superb quality; I love the tight grain of the Mahogany neck & the Torrified Spruce soundboard. The Koa back & sides are of such high grade & polish; not only beautiful to the eye, they capture & reflect back the ambient lighting as if it were electrified. The electronics are terrific & easy to use. overall, I believe this new guitar design both highly appealing to the eye at every level of detail & highly functional in its versatility & sound. One of the finest production guitars of this new high-tech. manufacturing age.
