Watch VideoCrafted at the intersection of comfort, rich sound and high-level performance, the Next Generation Builder's Edition 524ce adds an exciting new flavor of acoustic inspiration to our collection of player-focused guitars. This thoughtfully contoured Grand Auditorium sports a beveled armrest, beveled cutaway and chamfered edges, adding up to a remarkably comfortable, easy-playing feel for any style. Tonally, solid mahogany paired with back and sides of responsibly sourced Shamel ash combine for a warm, focused midrange sound that includes a touch of natural compression from the hardwood top to smooth out the attack, while the scalloped V-Class bracing inside strategically improves top vibration for an even richer, warmer, more powerful response. Players are sure to appreciate the adjustability of the new Action Control Neck and the intuitive controls of our new Claria electronics, all part of the Next Generation design philosophy. Visual details include a single-ring Italian acrylic rosette, Compass inlays, antique chrome Gotoh 510 tuners, a firestripe pickguard, and a glossy Kona Burst finish with a satin-finished neck.

Nothing negative. You may need to do a minor adjustment to the truss rod, but it would function just fine.

Sweet Voice
I have owned many Taylor guitars, at many price points, over the past 7 years. All have been high quality instruments regardless of price. I have two favorites right now, a 517e Builder's edition and 512ce from 2019. But, this one is special. If you want a warm tone, great looks, and easy playing in a do it all body size, look no further. The tone of this guitar is unlike any I have had before, including other brands. If you like mahogany tops, this is as good as it gets.

I wish I had this guitar thirty years ago
This guitar plays incredibly. I still love and use my 114ce but it's bright highs aren't needed in some of my playing so this mahogany/ash combo guitar fills my needs for when I want a warmer sound. Also, the creature comforts are well placed and the gotoh tuners are the icing on the cake. I play 10s and this thing feels better than my electric. I'm not saying this is for everybody but from what I've seen and read this model has been a very popular guitar as the 324ce builders edition several years ago that got moved, at present, up to a 524ce builders edition. The voice and playability of this guitar is definitely worth the price.
