Overview: The latest body shape innovation from Taylor blends the comfortable, accessible feel of a small-bodied guitar with a big, warm acoustic tone that belies its compact frame.

  • Sits between the GS Mini and Grand Concert in terms of size and scale length

  • Shorter scale reduces string tension for a slinky, relaxed feel on the fretting hand

  • Warm, rich low-end response with pristine highs and punchy mids

Designed from the ground up to provide a fun, inspiring acoustic experience for players of all styles and skill levels, the Taylor GT responds to a growing desire among acoustic players for a smaller-bodied, all-solid-wood guitar that can stand up and perform musically alongside full-size guitars. Inside, proprietary C-Class bracing architecture, a cantilevered, asymmetrical design informed by our patented V-Class bracing, articulates the soundboard in a unique way to coax a level of low-end warmth not typically possible from a small-bodied acoustic, along with impressive volume and sustain.

To encourage a more relaxed playing experience, the GT was designed with a scale length of 24-⅛”, which approximates the easier feel of a full-size guitar tuned down a half step from standard. This makes holding notes and chords much easier, helping bring the musical benefits of this affordable all-solid-wood guitar to an audience that includes players of all levels of ability. The choice of scale length makes GT guitars feel as though they’re strung with lighter, .11-gauge strings while still delivering the tonal power of a heavier string on a larger guitar. The fret spacing has also been reduced with the scale length, creating the effect of bringing your hands closer together and making the guitar easier to play. Whether you’re looking for a new all-purpose guitar with the power and resonance of solid woods or you need a more portable acoustic that doesn’t compromise on sound or feel, the GT is a surefire hit.
