Watch Video

Our first Grand Auditorium guitar featuring back and sides of red ironbark, the 514ce delivers a sweet, muscular sound that combines rosewood's high-fidelity voice with mahogany's warm and punchy midrange and spectrum-wide sonic balance. Paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top for a played-in, mature sound and V-Class bracing for improved volume and sustain, the 514ce yields power ideal for heavy strummers along with touch sensitivity that gives it a wide dynamic range that's great for fingerstyle players. With new Aerial inlays in Italian acrylic, a single-ring abalone rosette, a subtle stain that highlights Urban Ironbark's rich red hues, a lightly shaded edgeburst and gloss-finish body, the 514ce blends traditional and contemporary visual styles. It ships with ES2 electronics and a deluxe hardshell case.

Features

Grand Auditorium

Our flagship shape offers comfort and cross-genre utility, with a clear, balanced tone suited for both fingerstyle and strumming.

Red Ironbark

This tonewood from our urban wood initiative yields power, fidelity and depth for a supremely balanced, muscular sound.

Torrefied Spruce

Treated with our special roasting process, torrefied spruce tops deliver all the clarity, balance and projection you’d expect from a traditional spruce top with an extra dash of warmth and played-in depth.

Expression System® 2

The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Venetian Cutaway

The Venetian cutaway is known for its soft, round lines. The sloping peak of the cutaway will vary depending on the shape of the body.

V-Class Bracing

Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.

An Inspiring Guitar

5 out of 5 stars Craig F.

Best acoustic guitar I have add the privilege to own and play in 50+ years. I was looking for a new guitar that would inspire me. The 514 ce does this every time I play. The projection is typically Taylor great while delivering the most balanced and articulate sound I have ever heard come from a guitar. Tonally and dynamically versatile. A pleasure to play.

Best guitar I've ever had

5 out of 5 stars Lucas P.

The playability of the 514ce is something else. After long years playing on a 114ce and 214ce respectively, my dream finally came through when I put my hands on a 514ce, perfect sound and action.

514 Urban Ironbark

5 out of 5 stars John H.

Simply amazing. I mostly strum and I love the sound it gives. The lows are deep without being overpowering. You can feel it in your chest. The hi end sparkles like a bell. The finish is beautiful. This guitar is loud and you want to dig in to it. Taylor hit it out of the park with this one!

My 514 ce

5 out of 5 stars Senior or Sarge

I’ve had my Taylor for several years and it has a wonderful resonance with deep tones. When playing along with others it clearly stands out from the others. My only regret is I didn’t get one years ago.

A beautiful, comfortable, and great sounding acoustic guitar.

5 out of 5 stars Troy P.

Visually the Taylor 514ce Ironbark is a beauty to behold! It is a very comfortable guitar to play. Neck radius fits my hand nicely with low action. The guitar is great for both finger style and strumming techniques. When playing softly, the sound is articulate and clear. The depth and balance of bass, mids, and treble shine when strumming. I also enjoy the true sound that is heard when plugging in to my Fishman Artist acoustic amplifier.

My dream guitar come to life.

5 out of 5 stars Levi R.

Beautiful guitar. Everything about it is what I wanted from something like this. I've been looking at Taylor's since I've started playing 15 years ago and never thought I'd own one. Only downside Taylor setup for action is a little high

Response from Taylor Guitars, Glen W.

Hi Levi, The action on a Taylor can be set as low as you'd like, no need to suffer! Please respond to our email and we'll look for a certified Taylor tech in your area. Thanks!
