Overview
Builder's Edition 524ce
Watch VideoThe Builder’s Edition 524ce seamlessly blends premium craftsmanship, striking visuals and innovative, comfort-focused design features, making it an inspiring tool for players of all styles. Built to deliver unmatched playability, this gloss-finished Grand Auditorium features a beveled armrest, chamfered edges, a contoured cutaway and a Curve Wing bridge. Its solid mahogany top lends warmth, midrange emphasis and natural compression, while solid Shamel ash back and sides—responsibly sourced from municipalities in Southern California—add a warm, woody voice with a focus on fundamental notes and balanced overtones. Our patented V-Class bracing pattern dials up extra volume and sustain while improving intonation up and down the fretboard. Its Kona Burst and gloss finish present a dusky, alluring aesthetic, complemented by a firestripe pickguard, an Italian acrylic rosette and our Compass inlay motif. Outfitted with Gotoh 510 antique chrome tuners and ES2 electronics, the Builder’s Edition 524ce is a great choice for players seeking rich, balanced sound in a guitar that feels as good as it looks. For reliable protection in any situation, it ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
Features
Playability and Natural Beauty in Perfect Harmony
Designed for musicians who prize playing comfort, full-bodied tone and timeless, elegant aesthetics.
Grand Auditorium
Our flagship shape offers comfort and cross-genre utility, with a clear, balanced tone suited for both fingerstyle and strumming.
Shamel Ash
Sourced from city trees in need of removal, Shamel ash produces midrange power and balance comparable to Honduran mahogany.
Expression System® 2
The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.
Beveled Cutaway
Our beveled cutaway design provides a more player-friendly feel for guitarists who utilize every inch of the fretboard. It features a compound design with a smoothened edge along the corner of the body between the end of the cutaway and the neck heel, providing a more comfortable feel for the fretting hand.
V-Class Bracing
Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.

Hello, what difference is there with the 324CE builders' edition ? I see the series is 500 instead of 300, but other than that? Same woods on top, back & sides, same dimensions overall... Looks the same except the burst color. Am I wrong?
324ce: Sapele (back & sides)
524ce: Urban Ash (back & sides)
Tonal note: Sapele = punchier, brighter midrange; Urban Ash = slightly lighter, more open low end and a drier overall response.
2. Bracing Voicing
324ce: Voicing G
524ce: Voicing A
Different voicing profiles give each guitar its specific tonal identity within the V-Class family.
3. Finish Level
324ce: Satin finish (back, sides, and top)
524ce: Gloss finish on top, back, and sides
Both share the Tobacco Kona Burst color, but the 524ce has a more premium high-gloss presentation.
4. Tuners
324ce: Taylor Satin Black tuners
524ce: Gotoh 510 Antique Chrome tuners (higher-end, smoother, more precise)
5. Inlays & Logos
324ce:
Peghead Logo: Grained ivoroid celluloid
Fretboard Inlay: Weathervane (grained ivoroid)
Peghead Inlay: Weathervane
524ce:
Peghead Logo: Italian acrylic
Fretboard Inlay: Compass (Italian acrylic)
Peghead Inlay: Compass
Aesthetic personality shifts from traditional/ivoroid (324ce) to pearl/modern look (524ce).
6. Pickguard
324ce: None
524ce: Celluloid firestripe faux tortoise, installed
8. Hardware Differences
324ce: Black strap/end pins
524ce: Same pins, but paired with high-end Gotoh 510 tuners
