Honduran rosewood—a denser, harder variant of the species typically used for the back and sides of our flagship model—yields a beautifully balanced response with a harmonically complex overtone profile, while the sinker redwood top delivers cedar-like warmth and remarkable soft-touch sensitivity. Inside, our V-Class bracing architecture dials up more volume, longer sustain and improved tunefulness all the way up the neck. Comfort-enhancing touches include a beveled mahogany armrest that provides a smooth surface for your strumming arm and a beveled cutaway that beautifully accommodates your fretting hand as you access the guitar's highest register. Chamfered body edges and a smooth Curve Wing bridge complete the seamless experience, making for an intimate feel that softens the boundary between player and guitar. Other details include Gotoh 510 tuning machines with an ultra-precise 18:1 gear ratio, Element fretboard inlays in shell and mother-of-pearl, and a gloss finish with a shaded edgeburst treatment.

This 2025 Builder's edition model cost considerably more than the base 2025 Gold Label 814... Does it also have the new shim-less adjustable neck system? If not why?
It does not have the action control neck joint, that's exclusive to the Gold Label guitars at this time.

814ce Sinker Redwood Builders Edition
I’ve had the 2025, 814ce builders edition, sinker redwood/ Honduran rosewood for about a month now and the more I play it, the more I appreciate the quality of both the build and sound of this guitar. This is my third Taylor, I have a 322ce 12 fret and a 522ce 14 fret which are both all mahogany. The 814ce is truly a beautiful sounding guitar and I encourage you to get out and play one.
Since purchasing my new 814ce, my philosophy is play the best guitar you can afford because life is too short to play anything else.
I ordered the guitar directly from Taylor and they shipped it quickly and it arrived in perfect condition.
