This versatile model boasts solid sapele back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top in a gloss-finish Grand Auditorium body. No. 300 series and up are only available through retailers.
Does the tool to adjust the action come with the guitar? Can this be done by the player or do I have to bring it in for a setup each time I want to change the setting?
The tool is not included but they are available on Amazon for just a few dollars. This neck joint is designed so the play can adjust their own neck angle on the fly.

I found my forever acoustic guitar!
I heard about Next Generation Taylor guitars and stopped at my usual store to check it out. I played quite a few guitars there in the $1500 to $3500 price range to compare and the clear winner was the 314ce. It was very playable and hard to put down actually, it was nice and light, perfect 1.75" nut width detailed inlays, great action and a new feature, adjustable action at the neck heel. The tone, sustain and balance across all strings was incredible both played regular acoustic and plugged in sounded great too. Intonation was excellent all the way up and north of the 12th fret. Just an all around amazing guitar! I was so pleased, I just coudn't leave without it! A home run with Next Generation guitars Taylor!

Wonderful sound - a delight to play (Next Gen 314CE)
I moved up to this guitar from a 214 plus that I loved. I was curious but wasn't necessarily looking to buy, but then I played it. It took me maybe 15 minutes to know that this guitar was special in a way that I hadn't felt before when playing other Taylors and even other, higher end ones. I am thrilled with this guitar each time I pick it up. What they say about the tone is correct in my opinion. It has a wonderful presence and sustain. But for me coming from the 214, the biggest difference was playability and feel of the neck. The very slight difference (increase) in width of the fretboard was noticeable to me and fit my hand better. This is off the charts a wonderful guitar to me. There's nothing I'd change. Taylor hit the bullseye with this one. Great job!
