Sorry, no. Nylon strings do not pull enough tension to properly move the top of a steel string guitar.

This model is made in our Tecate, Mexico factory.

Loving my new Taylor 214ce plus!
I’ve owned a 114ce, three 214ce’s, a 210ce, and I think three gs minis, including the gs mini special edition carbon burst. Including numerous other brands in my day, I could never afford a higher end Taylor or any other brand of high end guitar for that matter. My biggest problem in finding the right guitar for me is hearing loss. They never seem to have enough volume for me. A few days ago I went into a local Guitar Center and played a few guitars before I spotted this beautiful 214ce plus. I took it off of the rack and strummed a couple of open chords and was immediately amazed at the volume and sound of this guitar. I have never owned a guitar that sounded as good or was as beautiful as this one at the price. The torrified spruce top has apparently made the 214ce plus sound as good or better than many higher end guitars. And the build quality is flawless. Needless to say, I took this 214ce plus home with me that day. I have never been happier with any guitar as I am with this one. Thank you Taylor for finally getting it right for those of us who can’t afford the high end series.

Love my 214ce Plus
The deep and balanced tones are such an improvement from my previous acoustic. It fills the room with sound. It came in a ready to play format no adjustments. Smooth frets and board.
Looking forward to having this on stage as part of my set.

Quality, indeed!
This is my first guitar that isn't a beginner model. Everything about this guitar is gorgeous: the tone, the smell, the craftsmanship, the feel, even turning the tuning pegs is a joy! The case is fantastic! This is a guitar I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Better than guitars more than twice the price.
I came to my local guitar store intending to try out several other models from different brands that I’d had my eye on. Those guitars were all at higher price points, likely due to their all solid wood construction. This guitar sounds better by a mile than anything else I played that day, so I bought it instead and I’ve been completely satisfied. The tone is well balanced, warm, and beautifully resonant. I didn’t even realize until I got it home that the nut width isn’t 1.75”, because it frets so beautifully even for my fat fingers. I didn’t know until after I picked it out that it also came with the new air case, and that’s yet another awesome detail. Light weight, looks great, and still plenty of protection. Taylor knocked it out of the park with this guitar.

My Taylor
I just got the Taylor 114 Ce Plus
The body of the guitar is great and glossy not a big body or wide,but a huge bright sound and great bass from the 4,5,6 strings.
The neck is not glossy but that’s ok
It still smooth and not wide. Great for smaller hand. The finger board and frets very nice
The strings set close so it’s very easy to play anywhere on the finger board whit amazing sounds
Either just strumming or finger picking
This guitar is a keeper for any musician
Then only thing I would change is the control knobs for the sound

You won’t be sorry
This is the nicest guitar I have ever owned. After many years of not playing at all I treated myself to a Taylor. The sound is amazing and the playability is outstanding (even I can play bar cords on it). It’s not the highest end nor the lowest but I think any level of player would enjoy it. My only issue was that the sales person said it came with a gig bag rather than case, I was annoyed until I saw what they were calling a gig bag, very very pleased with the Aerocase (so much better than the cheap fabric sack I was expecting)

Recently picked up the 214ce plus and WOW! Balanced tone with incredible bass and mids, great Taylor neck, and flawlessly beautiful. This guitar is great for anyone at any level. And the case is built like a tank.
