Overview

  • Grand Concert body for articulation and comfort
  • Indian rosewood and spruce for depth and clarity
  • V-Class bracing increases volume and sustain
  • Rosewood armrest offers refined playing experience
  • Comes with built-in ES2 pickup and hardshell case

Overview

812ce

Built on the all-star tonewood pairing of Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce, the 812ce offers players a more compact take on the flagship Taylor experience. This compact Grand Concert acoustic-electric serves up a richly textured sound with lush overtones, crisp trebles and a warm low range, articulate enough for fingerstyle play but powerful enough for traditional strumming and flatpicking. V-Class bracing helps dial up more volume and longer sustain, and the radius-style rosewood armrest makes for an even more welcoming feel. Subtle, yet striking appointments include a smoky ebony fretboard, maple binding, an abalone rosette and a super-thin full-body gloss finish. The 812ce includes ES2 electronics and ships with a hardshell case.

Features

Grand Concert

A compact shape with a clear, articulate voice, strong sustain, and a highly touch-sensitive, expressive response.

Indian Rosewood

The tonewood superstar. Popular, traditional, and versatile, Bob Taylor puts Indian rosewood among the greatest tonewoods ever.

Spruce

The soundboard choice for most guitars, Sitka spruce produces a broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.

Expression System® 2

The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Venetian Cutaway

The Venetian cutaway is known for its soft, round lines. The sloping peak of the cutaway will vary depending on the shape of the body.

V-Class Bracing

Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.

812ce

First of all, this is a beautiful looking guitar. Secondly, it is very comfortable to play as a result of the bevel. The tone is beautiful and it sounds great with her I’m streaming or playing finger style.

My Taylor 812ce is amazing!

5 out of 5 stars ROBERT L.

My new Taylor 812ce is amazing! From the almost never ending sustain, to the deep rich tone, to the incredible intonation, this guitar is so fulfilling and pleasing to play. It’s beautiful to look at too. I’m not a big guy. This body size for me is perfect. It is very comfortable to play, especially with the bevel. I mostly play finger style (I’m a pastor and play mostly hymns and Christian songs). For me, this scale length makes it easier to navigate the fretboard. This guitar has plenty of volume too. The V-class bracing is really amazing. Great job Andy! I would totally recommend the Taylor 812ce.

It is an overall great instrument.

4 out of 5 stars Doris D.

The size of the body and fret board is perfect for me. It looks wonderful...very classy!
I feel the action is not quite right for me but I can't seem to adjust it correctly. But it truly is a wonderful guitar.'
I agree with many reviews that say it is better for finger pickers.
Also, there is much talk of the new V bracing. My untrained ear cannot really pick up the difference. Sorry!
