Builder's Edition 717
The Builder's Edition 717 helped introduced Taylor's Grand Pacific body shape to the world, offering a rounded, blended tone that might surprise players who think they know the Taylor sound. Indian rosewood back and sides generate deep lows and pristine trebles, and the torrefied spruce top adds a bit of sweetness that usually comes with years of play. The dreadnought-style body serves up a big, throaty response with clear low-end power that translates beautifully through microphones, without the boominess that accompanies some larger-bodied instruments. Chamfered body and fretboard edges, a compound-carve neck profile that accommodates the movement of your fretting hand down the ebony fingerboard, and a noise-reducing Silent Satin finish all enhance the playing experience. This model includes a deluxe hardshell case.

What strings do these ship with ?
We're currently installing D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze Medium gauge 13-56.
Is the 717 made with hide glue, and are the bridge pins ebony? Thanks
Hide glue is not used but the pins are ebony.
Do the models with WHB (wild honey burst) finish sound different than a natural finish?
No, the finish process is the same except the WHBs have stain applied. This doesn't add mass or weight to the top so it sounds the same as a natural top model.
Can I get this with a glossy finish?
Sorry, this Builder's Edition model is only available in the silent satin finish.

No, this model is only made as a non-cutaway.
What case do these come with?
Most 700 series models ship in a deluxe brown hard shell case made by Taylor for optimal fit and protection. The exception is the 717 which ships in a hardshell case with brown western floral covering.

My dream guitar !
The sound is wonderful and it's a pure visual beauty. it's a real versatile instrument, i play folk, bluegrass, soul, rock, and jazz too !! i love the bass and the overtones, plus the torriefied top sound so vintage. I'm try a lot of high-end Taylor guitar ( K24, 324, 614, 414,...) and this is my favorite one. i'm a singer song-writer and it's a perfect friend for voices. recording is ultra easy !!
