Overview

312ce 12-Fret

Watch Video

With its accommodating Grand Concert body, solid tonewoods and V-Class bracing, the 312ce 12-Fret offers pro-level performance regardless of your ability. Sapele and spruce team up for a rich tone profile characterized by woody lows, pristine highs and a meaty midrange. The 12-fret configuration makes this model even more appealing, with a slightly more relaxed feel for your fretting hand than you'll find with standard models. Appointments include white binding, Gemstone fretboard inlays in Italian acrylic and a firestripe pickguard. With V-Class bracing for extra power and sustain, a built-in ES2 pickup and a hardshell case, the 312ce 12-Fret strikes a balance between functionality, comfort and value.

Features

A Powerful Voice in a Smaller Guitar

Solid sapele and Sitka spruce pair up to deliver broad dynamic range with crisp articulation in a smaller Grand Concert body that's ideal for fingerstylists.

Grand Concert

A compact shape with a clear, articulate voice, strong sustain, and a highly touch-sensitive, expressive response.

Sapele

One of the best all-around tonewoods there is, sapele will deliver for any playing style.

Spruce

The soundboard choice for most guitars, Sitka spruce produces a broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.

Expression System® 2

The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Venetian Cutaway

The Venetian cutaway is known for its soft, round lines. The sloping peak of the cutaway will vary depending on the shape of the body.

V-Class Bracing

Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.

I play mostly fingerstyle blues and some vintage country music.
This Taylor is louder than my Eastman E8D-TC that got sold after this Taylor.
I like that all the notes ring out clean and clearly. The balance between strings is good.
I did my research well before I bought this one from online seller, but I was more than happy when it arrived! After a year it sounds amazing to me and I still play it on daily bases.
I did change the saddle to a Taylor bone saddle. It did made this guitar a bit louder and brighter. That is not too bright as this is mellower sounding than my previous Taylor 214ce.
If there´s anything to hope for is a bit more fatter neck profile to my taste, but I´m okay with this one for now.

Versatile work horse

5 out of 5 stars Wali.B.Nice

Versatile work horse. Works perfectly in any situation, plays nicely and has really that big warm boom thanks to 12fret connection. I use a cover for the sound hole and an Acus Amp with DI out. Makes everybody happy, the audience and the technicians. Easy to use, rich in sound, no problem guitar. Take any C414 or similar mic to mic it in the studio between the sound hole and the neck to easily get a very professional sound. DÁddario XS 12 53 are a little bit better than Elixir, sound nicer and not so loud and the guitar is loud enough anyway.
