If you're on the hunt for a versatile, comfortable, masterfully crafted acoustic guitar, the Builder's Edition 614ce is a must-play. Designed for the ultimate playing experience, this Grand Auditorium is outfitted with an armrest, beveled cutaway, chamfered body and fretboard edges, and the noise-reducing Silent Satin finish. Big Leaf maple back and sides pair up with a torrefied Sitka spruce top for a clear, transparent sound that reflects each player's stylistic quirks, with a touch of extra warmth coming from the specially roasted top. Why are my bridge pins loose when restringin?
Taylors do not use pressure fit bridge pins. They will feel loose until there is string tension from tuning to pitch, and that's what locks them in place.
Can this be ordered with a pickguard? If so, which color?
Sorry. This one is not available from the factory with a pickguard. One would have to be installed after the purchase.
Does the 6 series guitar still come in pacific blue ?
Not as a standard model. We did a special edition 614ce in Pacific Blue. Which strings do I use in this guitar? Just bought 614ce builders editions and I would like to use elixir phosphor bronze Custom Light strings Will they fit no problem? Thanks

No, there are no color options on this model.
Do guitars in the 600 series have real ebony fretboards and bridges?
Yes, all guitars in the 600 series have genuine West African Crelicam ebony fretboards and bridges.

600 series models are made in our factory in San Diego, California, USA.
Are 600 series guitars all solid wood?
Yes - all 600 series models are solid wood construction.
What case do these come with?
All 600 series models ship in a deluxe brown hard shell case made by Taylor for optimal fit and protection.
The body wood looks brown on most of these, is it maple like 600's have been historically?
Yes, we still use maple for the back and sides but we started staining it brown in 2014 when the series was redesigned. The 618e is the exception with it's Antique Blonde finish treatment.
I like this guitar but could I get it with a Florentine cutaway?
Yes, a Florentine cutaway is an available option.
Could I get one made with a different top wood?
No, this model is only available with the torrefied Sitka spruce top.

My Taylor 614ce Builder's Edition is Amazing
I just received my Taylor 614ce Builder's Edition and it is amazing. The flamed big leaf maple is beautiful and the sitka spruce top has a really nice grain. The quality of the construction is top notch. The binding and fretboard are perfectly smooth. The finish is beautiful and free of defects. The neck is as smooth as a baby's bottom. I was amazed at how well it plays and I am VERY happy with this choice.
