T5z Classic - Koa
Outfitted with a beautiful Hawaiian koa top, the T5z Classic - Koa sits at the intersection of electric feel and sound with mellow acoustic tones, all provided by the unique three-pickup configuration. Two humbuckers and an acoustic magnet pickup combine to generate a wide range of sounds, while the five-way switching opens several avenues of tone. That means you can swap between high-gain electric sounds and soft acoustic tones with the flick of a switch. In terms of feel, the T5z Classic boasts a fast-playing response thanks to its 12" fretboard radius and jumbo frets. Aesthetic details include Small Diamond fretboard inlays, unbound F-holes and a striking koa top with a subtle edgeburst finish. This model ships with a lightweight, sturdy AeroCase.

How do I specify that I want a left handed guitar when I order? I don’t see an option anywhere.
If this guitar does not show the option for left handed on our site, the left handed version is not in stock. You would need to check availability or special order it at your preferred Taylor retailer.

What are the differences between the T5z Koa and the T5z Custom K? They look to be entirely the same except for the finish.
The Customer is dressed up with glossy finish, binding, different inlays, gold hardware and a hard case.
How much does the T5z weigh?
5 - 5 1/2" lbs.
Can you play without an amp?
Yes, although it's not nearly as loud as an acoustic guitar.
Does this come with stereo output for separating the acoustic sounds from the electric sounds?
No it doesn't. We're seeing more players prefer a mono output to an amp modeler/effects unit in which acoustic and electric stereo patches can be selected. For some players it means not needing to lug two amplifiers to a gig.
Can I get one in a left-handed version?
Yes, all T5z models are available in left-handed at no extra charge.
Are the tone controls active?
Yes, the treble and bass controls are active, and they provide a diverse range of sounds so you can really sculpt your tones.
