This gorgeous all-koa mini guitar model elevates the popular scaled-back GS Mini design to new aesthetic heights. The GS Mini-e Koa Plus boasts a solid Hawaiian koa top with layered koa back and sides, serving up a vibrant, punchy tone with plenty of power despite its compact size. The Taylor neck adds another dimension of playing comfort with easy fretting for players of all skill levels, making it a great choice for virtually any musical scenario. An alluring matte finish treatment draws out koa's visual character, and ES2 electronics provide quick plug-and-play utility in amplified situations. The GS Mini-e Koa Plus ships with a durable AeroCase that's one-third the weight of a hardshell case.
Features
GS Mini
A scaled-down body with a bold voice that punches above its weight, delivering rich sound in a compact, comfortable, travel-ready frame.
As a hardwood, koa produces a focused midrange and features a natural built-in compression that levels out the response. Warmth and overtones emerge over time and play.
What is the scale length of a gs-mini? I can't find it in the specs. Thanks!

This has become my go to guitar, it sits next to my bed. The only issue i had was after I played it for the first month the high E string would buzz so I took it in and had a set up done professionaly and I haven't had any problems since. The tech said the saddle needed to be shaved slightly and a trus rod adjustment. Its been a good year now and its been great no issues. I love this guitar!! I was a hardcore Martin only guy but Taylor has earned my respect. I had a little Martin and it doesnt hold a candle to the gs mini granted there is a significant price difference its well worth it. This guitar projects very well, its comfortable and easy to play. It stays in tune and has a great sound. Ive always been fond of spruce tops but there is something about Koa, it has a depth to it that is very pleasant to the ear and the Koa is absolutely beautiful! In the right light itlooks like fire. All and all this guitar exceeds my expectations for a guitar in this price range and I would highly recommend it as a novice player myself. The best advice i can give a new player is not to be detoured by price, for years I played cheap acoustics only to learn it actually slowed my progression. A well made guitar is much easier to play and when you are playing chords and they sound the way they should it really helps in the learning process. I have played a few yamahas that have blown me away but generally those Yamahas land at this price point and personality id prefer the Taylor name. By far this is the best guitar for beginners to experts in my opinion.

Amazing Sound, Volume, and sustain that easily beats many full size high end guitar.

I own 7 other guitars, and the GS Mini Koa Plus is my favorite guitar and the one I spend more time with.
I wanted a small size guitar for travel and couch surfing but I was not expecting the powerful and clear sound that comes out of this little guitar. The tones have solid volume and a great amount of sustain that easily matches those experienced in full size high-end guitars.
Every guitar player should have one of these in their inventory, I know mine will stay with me forever.

This guitar has become my go-to gigging guitar. I'm the only musician for our worship team at church so I'm primarily strumming chords, and sometimes the music can go on for extended periods of time. The ease of play is a real hand saver (I'm running 11's). The pick-up system is phenomenal and works well with the church's sound system. I love the aero case. It's perfect for my needs and part of my decision for getting the e-Koa+. And finally the looks - a real fine looking guitar. Very happy with my purchase.

Always a great shopping experience at the Music World Academy in Thunder Bay. Love the size, sound and the looks of my Mini-e Koa Plus. Because the Music World had both the the Koa and the Koa Plus I was able to compare each side by side which made my decision very easy. I personally felt that the Koa Plus had a richer sound compared to the Koa. Also because of the size of the Koa, and having an index finger unable to bend at the lower knuckle because of a work related injury, has made my cords sounding a little clearer and has resulted in less straining on my fingers and muscles. Practice makes perfect, my Koa Plus has me wanting to practice more, the perfection will come with persistence.
Yours sincerely, happy Koa Plus owner

NOT recommended as its sound features in KOA, together with quality issues
1 out of 5 starsBaixuan W.
I have already returned my KOA PLUS to the music store, because I found a troubling sound when playing on certains frets, it's annoying. But what disappointed me most, is the after-sale service. The music store got back my guitare and sent several times to Taylor center in Amsterdam, it took surprisingly 5 mouths for them to check and identify the problem! That's way too much. Finally I decided to refund this one because of this experience. After that I went to another musical store in Paris and got a new GS-MINI Rosewood.

Great parlor size guitar. If you have smaller hands or are getting older and want a guitar that's a little easier to play this deserves consideration.
The build quality is great and the koa wood is beautiful. The most impressive thing though is the amplified tone. The expression system is simple
to operate and sounds fantastic. I prefer slightly lighter gauge strings for a little less string tension but that's a personal thing. Bottom line is that
this is a lot of guitar at its' price point! Good job guys. I own other Taylor guitars and this one has the quality that we've all come to expect from Taylor.

It's a great instrument for sure.
I used it on a big stages but also on small venues. With IEM I'm always very happy, but with wedges monitors it's difficult to the "body" that I need.
When I'm using on my home or on studio I have what I was waiting from this instrument.
Great sound, great middles perfect for fingerstyle. I think with a setup it will come more to my preferences.
On the bad side, I can't understand why I have to buy a key to adjust the trussroad on an instrument that cost me 1200 euros.

My GS Mini-e Koa Plus is a gorgeous and great sounding acoustic guitar. It’s incredible how a small form guitar produces such a rich and projected sound.
Until now the downsides to mention, that stops me to give 5 stars, are the high action setup and some minor fret works that needs to be done. Regarding high action setup, even after an official Taylor intervention, it is still too high for me, and sometimes unpleasant to play. Maybe ir should get another intervention to perform a neck reset.

A beautiful little guitar with a big sound and perfect playability.
5 out of 5 starsDrew G.
I got my GS Mini for two reasons: as a backup guitar for the primary guitar I use to perform; and 2) as an acoustic guitar small enough to carry anywhere. The GS Mini is perfect for both.
The GS Mini plays easily, and sounds great acoustically and plugged in. I never worry about something happening to my guitars during a show. I can easily switch between guitars if I break a string, or (Heaven forbid!) have a hardware failure.
I also wanted to be able to walk into an establishment with a guitar on my back, ready to prove my talents to the owner right then and there. The size of the Mini is perfect for this; and its small size belies its large sound.
With its mellow acoustic sound and playability, the Mini is my ‘go to’ guitar when writing or learning songs, or just hanging out playing with friends.
The koa body wood is just beautiful, as is the touch of woodgrain flame in the fretboard.
All around, a great guitar!

I wanted a smaller guitar for traveling and sitting on the coach with and heard so many great things about the GS minis. I went locally to try them out. It was exactly what I was looking for. Originally I was going for the koa but ended up with the koa e plus. The guitar looks and sounds wonderful. But really love the on board electrics and the gig bag / hard cas is excell and sealed the deal.

Taylor's Expression system 2 failed (brand new)
3 out of 5 starsMario S.
The guitar is beautiful and fun to play, but I had issues with the Taylor's expression system 2. One of the sensors under the saddle was disconnected and the other two were not working as they should. I bought my Mini in Miami Sam Ash and we didn't tested the system, because I returned to my country the same day. I live in El Salvador, so I couldn't use the guarantee. Besides the guarantee issue, they helped me and could fix the problem. I was really sad about all the troubles I had, because that was the model I was looking for and felt disappointed. I hope I won't have issues again and I'm gonna always have the doubt if it's running OK.

Loved the look of it and the feel of it. I have 3 other Taylors which are brilliant. This one, despite the good looks started to become hard to play. I was advised it was a humidity issue although that has never affected my other Taylors. After much expense and work to lower the action it's playing well again. Fingers crossed this will not happen again.

A very playable and good sounding guitar with a little downer that control knobs can’t be latched
5 out of 5 starsHarald P.
I like the gs mini and I was surprised, that it doesn’t sound small at all. I used it for almost all my live jobs. One thing though is very annoying. The three knobs for bass, treble and volume can’t be tightened in fixed positions. Therefore you always have to check the positions whenever you take of the guitar over your shoulder to make sure the sound and volume is as you planned it for that gig. Would be great if this could be changed and knobs could be engaged in certain settings.

This is my fourth guitar in a short period of time, and as an advanced age beginner, I find the GS Mini easy to learn on and play. I’m no expert, but you can feel the difference in quality of this Taylor compared to any other guitar I’ve looked at and tried, other than maybe another Taylor. It is simply a quality piece of workmanship IMHO. I’ve already decided what my next Taylor will be when I’m ready to progress to the next level. I don’t, however, ever see myself parting with my GS Mini-e Koa Plus.

When I purchased this guitar at my local Music store, the clerk played about 5 different travel size guitars while I listened to the differences. When he picked up the GS mini-e Koa plus he stopped playing after a couple of bars and said to me “That’s an eye opener.” It sounded rich and full it was way above all the others. When he finished playing I said “Thats the one.” He handed the guitar to me and said “I don’t blame you, I’ll get the case and meet you at the register.

Surprised by the quality of sound

I purchased an 814 CE a couple years ago, and became intrigued with the emails that you sent me with artist live demonstration of KOA wood. The mini KOA sounds great and the slightly smaller size made it easier to play with my short fingers. Perfect for a travel guitar.

Taylor GS Mini Koa Plus, FTW
5 out of 5 starsShawn J.
After much research, When I walked into the store to purchase my new Guitar, the Taylor GS Mini Koa Plus was my second choice. My first choice was a full-size Jumbo (which shall stay unnamed) for the same price as the Taylor. I sat down and tried the jumbo, then asked to try the Taylor. It took but 30 seconds to know the Taylor was the winner in every way. Bigger was NOT better this time. That was 5 months ago and no regrets at all. I love that guitar. Taylor, "For The Win". 6 stars out of 5... P.s. The Aero case it comes with is top shelf as well.

She is a true beauty
5 out of 5 starsJOHN H.
I love this guitar.
It sounds beautiful, feels beautiful and is beautiful to look at.
I’m really just a beginner bu having a beauty like my Mini makes every moment of practice a joy and a privilege.
A wonderful full and big sound… clear strong bass, smooth mid and clear crystal bell treble.
Whether you’re finger picking or strumming she will sing and dance with you.
I will buy more guitars but I’ll never part with my Mini.

Wonderful guitar…but disappointed that low E buzzes with capo when played hard. Will need to have action raised I think.

Faulty electrical amplifier unit.

This is my second GS Mini-e Koa Plus. The first one I received had a faulty electrical amplifier unit. Had to return it and it was replaced with a new GS Mini-e Koa Plus. So far the second one appears to be ok!

It’s by far the best purchase I’ve made in 2022, worth every penny.
I’m a beginner guitarist and it makes my little riffs and chords sound professional.

Mini in size, not in sound
5 out of 5 starsChristopher J.
I love this little guitar! It doesn’t feel that different in the left hand, but the sound is comparable to that of my dreadnought body Epiphone. It’s got a great tone, acoustic and amplified! And the body is just beautiful. This is a guitar worthy of the Taylor name, and I look forward to getting mini years of use out of it!

Plays like a Taylor but a little more compact. I love this guitar so far and play it more often than my other Taylors because it’s smaller and easier for practice. I highly recommend!

Awesome guitar. Very comfortable playing because little smaller size yet still has a robust sound.
Use it mostly plugged in and it projects nice in the sound mix.

My guitar case hasn’t been used much and I’ve noticed a rip that has started and getting bigger.
5 out of 5 starsMichael R.
I love my guitar but I am requesting a new case because it has started to rip on me
Response from Taylor Guitars, Glen W.

I adore this guitar

The baby Taylor was too small for my hands and did not hold it's tuning all that well so the GS mini is a perfect guitar for a relaxed evening with friends, sofa playing or holidays due to its size. It is incredibly rich and powerful in tone and with the benefit of the es2 it makes a perfect backup guitar for live gigs.

Very good 👍
Never thought I’d buy a Taylor
5 out of 5 starsPaul J.
Taylor GS mini was not even a thought when I planned on buying a new guitar. I had my mind set on another guitar but decided to play a few others before making a final decision. I loved the feel, sound and look of the GS mini and have not looked back. Great guitar with a large guitar sound. Very satisfied with my purchase, thank you!
Love my baby mini gs KOA plus.

I love ❤️ this guitar because the sound is so amazing and good quality product. It’s also a gorgeous colour
The Best GS Mini You Can Purchase!

Yes but No… but Yes!
Okay let me start off by saying this is an amazing guitar! I’ll give a very basic breakdown then the reasons why this is a 4 start not a 5.
Looks - 10/10 (my personal opinion)
Sound - 8/10 ( I use 13s) very loud
Playability- 9/10 ( if you use a lighter gauge it will be even easier to play)
Tuning stability- 8/10(comes with better tuners)
Case - 11/10 ( best case I’ve ever owned)
Electrics - 7/10 (reliable and gets the job done well, controls are also very useful)
Build quality 9/10 ( comparable to American build quality)
This guitar overall is a Gs mini at its best ! That being said… definitely lacks the basic (pro/plus features) yes it has the better case and the ES2 pickup but they keep raising the price and I think it’s lacking some basic stuff like it has a synthetic bone, saddle and bridge, plastic bridge pins and no pick gaurd option. Originally it was priced at 999 this has changed twice to 1199 I think 999 is a perfect price.
