T5z Classic - Sassafras
Blackheart sassafras is known as a musical shapeshifter boasting a highly varied sonic response, making it a perfect choice as a top wood for the T5z Classic - Sassafras. Our hybrid hollowbody electric guitar boasts an acoustic body sensor and twin high-definition humbuckers controlled by five-way switching, allowing you to jump between pickup combinations and access a rich collection of tonal colors. The neck, which sports jumbo frets and a 12" radius for easy bending, will feel fast and responsive to both acoustic and electric players, and the compact body makes for a relaxed fit with any type of player. The gorgeous grain of the sassafras top headlines the visual package, complemented with subtle touches like the Small Diamond inlays and satin black tuners. This model ships with a lightweight, sturdy AeroCase.

Does this come with stereo output for separating the acoustic sounds from the electric sounds?
No it doesn't. We're seeing more players prefer a mono output to an amp modeler/effects unit in which acoustic and electric stereo patches can be selected. For some players it means not needing to lug two amplifiers to a gig.

The "One."
If I had no choice but to own only 1 guitar, it would be my T5z. It is beautiful. The construction is flawless. In a world of Taylor "playability" it is my #1 of the other Taylors I own. The pickup system is versatile and while playing I actually can hear the differences between all 5 settings. I have bought and consigned other guitars, but that will never happen with this one.

Great time for a hybrid…
Love the guitar, almost perfect but needs to have a shim put under the neck for a lower angle of fretboard evenness.
Tonally great flexibility, and depth of tone shaping, so it meets the completion from Fender quite well. You just have to do some initial tweaking of the tone pots to get them close to warmer or brighter models, or with more mid-range punch…
Got the Sassafras model and love the colorations of the grain too. Used guitar but feel that the prior owner didn’t take the time to learn how to work the controls enough to keep it. His loss, my gain. A splitter a/b switching through my Fender SPX II amp or Zoom A2 Pedal side by side with either a Boss GT-1 or GT-1000 pedalboard blends wonderfully together.
Take your time with it at first and you’ll realize how important this tool will be in your arsenal.
