T5z-12 Classic
For players seeking the unique feel and sound of a 12-string electric guitar, the T5z-12 Classic offers an array of sonic colors that make this model a musical shapeshifter. The magic lies in the electronics setup, which includes two high-definition humbuckers and an acoustic body sensor, all controlled by five-way switching. The result is a wide swath of tonal flavors, letting you move from warm acoustic sounds to bright electric tones on the fly. A comfortable neck with jumbo frets and a 12" radius will feel familiar to electric players and accommodating to those used to the acoustic feel. Boasting a mahogany top with a rich natural grain, the T5z-12 Classic also sports Small Diamond inlays and unbound F-holes. This model ships with a gig bag.

Are two sets of strings required to restring the T5Z-12 String?
One set of 12 strings.
Does Taylor offer the option of ordering this 12 string with reversed octaves, a.k.a Rickenbacker?
Sorry, no. But we did do a special edition that was strung reverse octave. Humbuckers? Are they invisible?
The lipstick pickup is, yes. There is an additional humbucker pickup hidden underneath the last fret of the fretboard.

If you mean open E, yes. That would be fine.
What strings come on the T5z Classic 12 string?

I live in the Sonoran desert, with humidity often under 10%. Being all laminated body, does the T5z require the same amount of care,(being locked in a case unless being played), as a solid wood acoustic?
The T5z 12 Classic is all solid wood construction, and needs to be maintained between 45% and 55% when not in use.
How loud is the 12 string unplugged? Just playing as an acoustic. Is it reasonable to play it unplugged?
This is a lot of fun to play unplugged! It's not nearly as loud as an acoustic guitar but it's much louder than a solid body electric.
I assume its manufactured in the United States?
That's correct. Made in El Cajon, California, USA
Does this come with gig bag or hardshell case?

Is there any way to get a wider neck?
Sorry, all T5 necks are 1 11/16" wide at the nut, no alternate sizes available.
Does this come with stereo output for separating the acoustic sounds from the electric sounds?
No it doesn't. We're seeing more players prefer a mono output to an amp modeler/effects unit in which acoustic and electric stereo patches can be selected. For some players it means not needing to lug two amplifiers to a gig.
Can I get one in a left-handed version?
Yes, all T5z models are available in left-handed at no extra charge.
Are the tone controls active?
Yes, the treble and bass controls are active, and they provide a diverse range of sounds so you can really sculpt your tones.
