Copafera
Copafera

Layered Copafera

Taylor’s layered backs and sides incorporate three layers of wood, featuring a middle core of poplar with other layers of wood on each side. The layered copafera we use calls to mind Indian rosewood and adds a rich complexion to select 200 Deluxe models.

Layered Copafera

Used On: The 200 Deluxe Series

One of several appealing wood options within our 200 Deluxe Series, copafera (also known by the name etimoe) is used as the outer layer for the back and sides of our all-wood laminate construction. A natural coloring process enhances the wood’s variegation, bringing out a mix of mocha, auburn and cinnamon hues that calls to mind the rich look of Indian rosewood. Our layered wood construction enables us to conserve tonewood resources and offer attractive, durable instruments at a more inviting price. Our layered copafera guitars are paired with a solid spruce top, which will produce a clear, dynamic response and improve as the guitar ages.
