Overview

Builder's Edition 912ce

Watch Video

The Builder's Edition 912ce sports all-solid tonewoods and an array of comfort-focused touches that make it one of our most refined Grand Concert models. Indian rosewood back and sides team with a Lutz spruce top to produce rich overtones and a stunning balance of low-end presence, chime-like trebles and a slight scoop in the midrange that leaves room for vocals. The compact body offers an intimate feel along with strong definition between notes, making this a great option for fingerstyle players. V-Class bracing inside elevates the response with more volume and sustain, while the chamfered edges, beveled cutaway and armrest remove all barriers to a comfortable playing experience. Finally, the Silent Satin finish helps reduce noise from the player's movement.

Features

Grand Concert

A compact shape with a clear, articulate voice, strong sustain, and a highly touch-sensitive, expressive response.

Indian Rosewood

The tonewood superstar. Popular, traditional, and versatile, Bob Taylor puts Indian rosewood among the greatest tonewoods ever.

Lutz Spruce

This natural hybrid of Sitka and White spruce also shares characteristics with Adirondack spruce, responding with power, richness and volume.

Expression System® 2

The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Beveled Cutaway

Our beveled cutaway design provides a more player-friendly feel for guitarists who utilize every inch of the fretboard. It features a compound design with a smoothened edge along the corner of the body between the end of the cutaway and the neck heel, providing a more comfortable feel for the fretting hand.

V-Class Bracing

Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.

A Dream Taylor Guitar! With Amazing Sound and Premium Appointments.

5 out of 5 stars Gabriel M.

Recently received my brand new 912ce Builders Edition (Natural Color), and it's been a great experience so far.
Besides the amazing volume, sustain, low action, and attention to detail, these are some of the elements that I have appreciated the most so far:

- Grand Concert Body - Love the size if this compact and smaller scale (but still full size) guitar. The 912ce is the only Builders Edition model that Taylor makes in the GC body. (Besides the 50th Anniversary 812ce BE)

- Soft and Rounded Edges - All body and fretboard edges have been rounded off, this makes the guitar incredibly comfortable to hold.

- Silent Satin Finish - You have to see and feel this to trully appreciate it. The Silent Satin feels incredibly smooth to the touch and gives it a nice modern / premium look.

- Beautiful appointments - High quality inlays and well balanced details clearly separates this guitar from the rest of the lineup.

The guitar came perfectly setup from the Manufacturer, but I did have to make a small adjustment to the truss rod to get it back to specs…not a big deal.

This guitar will stay in my family for generations!

Movin on up... To the top.

I traded a 16 series Martin for an 814, but I found it a little big. Traded that in for my 912ce BE and I am truly delighted. Sounds amazing and is absolutely the most comfortable acoustic I have ever played.

A very amazing and convincing guitar.

5 out of 5 stars Joshua T.

I'm about 30 years old. I've been playing guitar for almost 20 years now. I was first playing classical guitar for more than 10 years, but then I decided to change my guitar preferences and musical style to a more freestyle playing with an acoustic guitar.

I bought the Taylor BE 912CE about 6 months ago. The guitar is amazing in every ways. Even though the guitar itself is not so big (courtesy of the grand concert model), it really produce a loud and convincing sound. It has a natural warm and very sustained treble, on the other side the bass is very rich and very expressive. The sound makes it ideal for doing the musical activity that I'm doing: playing solo guitar, playing with friends, or playing on stage with group of people / singers.

The playability is magnificent. The action is just right. The beveled cutway makes it really easy und comfortable to reach the high end notes. The beveled armrest makes it a lot more comfortable to play the guitar. I can easily play the guitar for more than 2 hours straight because the armrest and the compact body simply make it comfortable for me to do so. The guitar itself is also very light and easily transportable.

All in all it is a very amazing and convincing guitar that makes me feel like I've met (bought) the guitar of my life.

Great fingerstyle guitar with amazing sound from a small body guitar

5 out of 5 stars Randy A.

Beautiful guitar! The builders edition 912CE is an amazing guitar perfect for fingerstyle or just strumming. The smaller body and beveled edges that are included in this Builders Edition make it a very comfortable guitar to play. Also, the bindings, tuners and inlays make this guitar stick out as a very high end quality guitar. I now own five Taylor guitars, every one of them are quality built and will last for many years!

I’ve been a fan of Taylor Guitars since 1999 when I got my first Taylor. The 912ce Builders Edition WHB is my 9th. Not only is it a dream to play with its unique features but it’s a beautiful guitar with such craftsmanship. I’ve owned other popular brand guitars but keep coming back to the Taylor line. There is definitely something for every players playing style and budget.
